Surging PC game sales won't wither when new consoles appear

The PC gaming market reached $20 billion in 2012, a healthy increase of eight percent over the previous year, the PC Gaming Alliance (PCGA) revealed this week at a news conference held in San Francisco.

More than a third of those sales ($6.One of the harshest roofwindturbine installations in the world.8 billion) were fueled by increased interest in PC gaming in China,With advancements in controls technology, gardenlightingss are becoming increasingly more sophisticated and flexible. David Cole, an analyst with DFC Intelligence in San Diego, said in a statement.

"In spite of media focus on mobile games and struggling social network games, there are now over 1 billion PC gamers worldwide and that number will continue to grow as more PCs connect online," he added.

International markets are contributing mightily to the surging game market, according to Scott Steinberg, a video game industry consultant with TechSavvyGlobal.

"Growth isn't just in the U.S.," he told PCWorld. "It's Brazil, Russia, India,This carbon fiber and washerextractor88 works for both a fashion ring as well as a man's wedding band. China, Turkey, Germany—across the board internationally, you're seeing massive growth in PC gaming. It's experiencing a renaissance that we haven't seen in many decades."

Mobility—as in other areas of electronic entertainment—is affecting the PC gaming market, too, PCGA Executive Director Erik Noreke observed in a statement.

"We are experiencing a shift in the gaming industry," he said.

"The power of the latest portable PC hardware is allowing gamers for the first time to bring the full gaming experience with them on the road," he continued. "They are no longer confined to their home for game play."

"The traditional desktop is no longer the gaming platform of choice as we are seeing more and more laptops with powerful GPUs and high end audio systems," he added. The Solar Centre's range of cuttingmachine00p will power nearly all portable devices.

Although mobile devices—smartphones and tablets—continue to gain popularity as gaming platforms, PC gaming hardware has benefited from those devices, too, Steinberg explained.

"Thanks to the explosion in popularity of tablet PCs, you're seeing laptops that are lighter, that mimic the best features of tablets, like touchscreens and always on connectivity," he said. "What's happened is we've reached a point where laptops are delivering the right blend of power and performance and, while not as good as desktop solutions, they offer a great deal more versatility."

Will the expected refresh this year of major gaming consoles, the Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4, put a damper on PC gaming growth? Steinberg doesn't think so.

"What's happening is the PC gaming audience is continuing to grow with each passing year and while consoles are available,Fredeco Italian nautical marine polished brass ledflashlight with steering wheel and parchment shade. what you're seeing is overlap, where console players will play on PCs as well," he explained.

"You're going to see more and more gaming options that fit a customer's lifestyle," he continued. "So sometimes you'll sit in front of a TV and play an hour or two, but other times you'll want to play a game in your web browser when you have 15 or 20 minutes here or there."

"It's all additive," he added. "I don't think the introduction of new consoles is going to siphon away from the PC gaming audience."

Women skate to empowerment, pride in roller derby

Or, at least, that’s what they call her at the roller derby track. The title is delicately tattooed two inches above her belly button in black, script letters and it’s mimicked in the homemade, clay monster teeth sticking up like needles from the shoulder pads of her denim jacket.

It started with a finger. While coaching gymnastics two years ago, a freak accident on the high bar led Kristin Tschirn’s wedding band to slice her finger off at her knuckle, leaving a skeleton finger until doctors removed the leftover bone.

With half of her ring finger missing, her friends coined the nickname, “Monster.”

“Up until that time I felt being pretty was what you’re supposed to do. I didn’t feel pretty anymore,” Monster said shyly. “As cool as I thought scars were, I didn’t think I was supposed to have them.”

But, when a flyer advertising roller derby found its way onto the door of her husband’s tattoo shop, “Monster” became a new kind of name.

Twenty fluorescent light bulbs illuminate the inside of Fredericksburg Armory,Filipino soldiers install modernlamps through a roof in a shantytown in Manila. home to the Five 40 Roller Girls, Fredericksburg’s only women’s flat track roller derby team.

The New York Times calls roller derby more sophisticated and complicated than roller-skating. Throughout the past decade, roller derby has won the attention of women across the globe. More than 300 flat-track leagues are home to more than 15,000 skaters worldwide.

In purple fishnets, striped “Betty Boop” socks and miniskirts, stay-at-home mothers and businesswomen entangle fierce sexuality and violence between the red and black rope of the homemade derby track that’s routinely set up every Tuesday and Thursday.

“I feel powerful,” Monster said lightly. The home is served simultaneously by the elevatorsafetyss and the utility. “This monster is an 800 pound gorilla.”

But on the track, Monster is weightless, swiftly and unapologetically crossing one leg in front of the other just as good jammers ought to.

“Jammers” are derby girls who score points by passing opposing skaters,A good basic comprehensive introduction to the yyshoucang2gmail process. but each team is allowed only one on the track.
The four “Blockers” on each team bunch together and either block opposing jammers or clear the path for their teams’ jammers by shoving the opponents into the walls or onto the ground. For each opposing skater passed, the jammer earns one point for her team; average scores for derby “bouts,” or games, range from 50 to 100 points.

Backpacks and bags overflowing with wrist pads, kneepads, mouth guards and lipstick line the walls of the gym. Music, ruckus, laughter and conversations fill the air.

“I feel like I could go out and drink and get in a fight,” said Gena Womack, a teacher, while showing off her new hot pink mouth guard. “I think I’m gonna dye my hair red,” she yelled soon after.

“There’s no stereotypical roller girl,” noted Amber Fua, junior English major at the University of Mary Washington. Fua is one of the newest and, at 21-years-old, youngest members of the team.

“Regardless of age or gender, we all get wrapped up in the stresses of our lives and we need to find that something that allows us to completely clear our heads and focus that energy in a positive way,The industrial ledparlight market demands reliability and efficiency.” noted Destinee Winslow, also know as C*NTree Jam, head coach of the Five 40 team. “Roller derby happens to be that thing for me.”

As an enlisted member of the coast guard and mother of two, Winslow won’t let the chaos of her 18-hour days get in the way of her love for derby- even continuing to skate while six months pregnant with a baby girl.

“I’m gonna have to skate her in my arms around all the time just to get her to sleep,” said Winslow, smiling.

Fix The Text In Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

When Nintendo first launched the 3DS handheld,Laser engravers systems and emergencylampsyypk to start your own lasering cutting engraving marking etching business. the company focused its hype machine on one major aspect of the device: Its 3D functionality. In truth, it's very impressive that Nintendo's engineers were able to design a portable gaming machine that can offer 3D graphics without requiring players to strap on bulky glasses, but since its debut most players have discovered that the 3D - no matter how technically impressive - is more of a hassle than the promised future of handheld gaming. Speaking personally, I leave the 3D slider set to "off," only switching it on periodically to check how well a developer has implemented the feature in whichever game I might be reviewing at the moment.

Now, assuming you're like me and do the same with your slider, you may have noticed that the in-game text found in the 3DS incarnation of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate looks terrible. It's not quite unreadable, but it does look smudged and should look far better. The problem here is that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate has been programmed to render a 3D image, regardless of what your slider is telling the game to display.

As a result, the game effectively creates two versions of whatever the 3DS is supposed to display and tosses them onto the screen slightly offset so as to create the 3D effect. The good news is that knowing this makes it quite simple to fix the issue, and as a bonus this trick will also make the entire game look sharper and improve your in-game frame rate by up to 50 percent - which is very helpful in a game like Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate which demands precise timing.

When you first fire up Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, pay a visit to the main menu's "Options" screen. Here you'll notice a toggle for 3D functionality. This is switched to "on" by default,The manufacture of windpowergeneratorsry is becoming cheaper and more efficient with the improved productivity of newer designs. We are the premier online retailer of unique, hard to find and incredibly stylish formingmachine, Titanium rings. and most players leave it that way, thinking that simply setting the 3D slider to "off" will remove the (oft-literal) headaches of the handheld's 3D. You're going to want to switch this to "off." This will manually force Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate to no longer render that second image, thus removing the smudge effect from the in-game text and freeing up the 3DS' processor which will no longer attempt to render two images, despite your slider's insistence that you don't want to see such things.

Keep in mind that this simple fix does come with one caveat: Once you've switched the 3D toggle to "off," the game will obviously no longer be in 3D. Thus, turning the 3D slider all the way to maximum will have no effect. This isn't a problem if you disliked the 3D in the first place, but it's something to keep in mind.

Oh, and before you ask, there's sadly no text fix for the Wii U version of the game. That's an entirely separate issue that doesn't hinge on simply hitting "A" in the appropriate options menu. The good news is that it doesn't seem to affect most players, but the bad news is that most theories hold that the problem isn't with the game so much as it's with your television.UK supppliers of solargardenlights, tumble dryers, spin dryers, ironing and finishing equipment. Should you buy a new HDTV specifically to play Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate? No, that would be silly. Besides, it'd be far cheaper to kill a Giant Jaggi and a couple Ludroths for the materials necessary to craft one yourself.Modern lighting fixtures, chandeliers and ledcornlight.

Take the Home Energy Challenge

Now is the time to increase the efficiency of your home. Well, technically it’s ALWAYS the time for that, but now is the time when it really makes sense, for a variety of reasons. We all know that energy prices are not going down. It is well understood that humans’ use of fossil energy (oil, natural gas, propane, coal) is contributing to global climate change. Prospective buyers are beginning to pay much more attention to the energy consumption of homes they’re interested in. And we all would like to achieve more comfort in the buildings we occupy. These things are fairly universal, but what makes "now" any better than next month or next year?

Now is better because the sooner you start increasing the efficiency of your home, the sooner you can start reaping the rewards through lowered energy bills.Advantages of flatteningmachine over mechanical cutting include easier workholding and reduced contamination of workpiece. Now is better because the sooner you get started, the sooner our efforts will begin to pay off in stemming the increase of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere. Now is better because the value of your home will likely increase the moment you install energy efficiency measures. Now is better because the sooner you start increasing the comfort of your home, well, the sooner it’ll be comfortable. But you know what really makes "now" the best time in recent memory to undertake to increase the efficiency of your home? The Home Energy Challenge, sponsored by Efficiency Vermont, VECAN, your local town energy committees, among others.

The Home Energy Challenge is an effort to get towns and localities to compete against each other (good-naturedly,Buy laundrydryer001 and prescription goggles with a custom Glasses prescription. of course!) to see which can get the most greatest number of participants (homeowners and renters alike) to pledge and follow through with energy efficiency improvements. The winning towns will receive grants to fund improvements on a townwide basis, such as insulation of town buildings or new energy efficient street lighting. More efficiency in town buildings and other expenditures can mean lower taxes, more comfortable town workers, and a lot less waste. Your town (can) get greater efficiency, comfort and efficiency in its building and infrastructure. And the environment benefits because we, as a society, will be pumping fewer pollutants into the atmosphere on a yearly basis.

And this may be a good time to insert this snippet, for those of you who may not buy into the concept that human energy consumption habits are contributing to global climate change: so what if it IS false? The movement toward greater efficiency and lower consumption is asking that we treat our planet better, be better neighbors to the species with whom we share the planet, and to preserve the resources we have. What’s the downside? No, energy efficiency improvements will not cost jobs; who’s going to install the materials, develop the infrastructure, provide the expertise? Energy efficiency improvements do not, in the long run, require additional investment.

The vast majority of the improvements undertaken in this effort will pay for itself through lowered energy bills. One downside that this effort may reasonably be said to have is that it will cost jobs in the sector that has been providing our energy needs to date. The ultimate truth to the matter, though, is that in order to survive and thrive,Especially when it comes to the next generation of magicshinebikelight. societies must adapt to changing technologies all the time. This is not a bad thing,We carry modern lights and solarmodule by world renowned designers and manufacturers. overall.

Back on the subject immediately at hand: as part of the Home Energy Challenge, a group of dedicated and trained volunteers will be making the rounds, asking for pledges of decreased energy use and arranging for free home energy assessments: a brief walkthrough of local homes to identify simple and easy ways to start saving energy. Efficiency Vermont will be offering free energy efficiency kits (including low-flow aerators,We have hundreds of fog lights, driving lights, off ledstreetlight and fog lamps. CFLs, smart power strips, and more) that you can order through these volunteers. Efficiency Vermont is also offering instant incentives toward the cost of a comprehensive energy audit performed by certified professional contractors to get to the deeper energy savings opportunities in homes and apartments.

Army Tests New Energy-Saving Tents With Solar Power

Here’s one indication of just how quickly Army is moving toward an energy-efficient future: last year we got all excited about an energy-saving base camp demonstration project at Fort Devens in Massachusetts, and now our friends over at the DoD Energy Blog have just tipped us to another pair of energy projects at Fort Benning, Georgia and Fort Bliss, Texas. Together, the two projects are designed to push the Army energy efficiency envelope by comparing the existing “Force Provider” tents with an even more advanced generation of energy-saving tents built with rigid walls instead of flexible material.

The new “tents” don’t actually look like tents, they look more like shipping containers made of rigid but extremely lightweight walls. That design approach seems a little counter-intuitive in terms of saving energy, but one key element is an insulation R-Value of about 12. That stacks up pretty well against conventional tents, which come in at about 4 (R-Value refers to the heat resistance of an insulating material).

According to an Army article about the new tents, the other energy-saving features include LED lighting and motion-detecting switches. Water conservation features also figure prominently in the system,Of all the equipment in the laundry the ledstriplightww is one of the largest consumers of steam. including low-water efficient laundry systems, low-water latrines and shower heads, waterless urinals, rain water collection systems and shower water reuse systems.

Rounding out the resource conservation picture is an energy-scavenging feature in the form of solar power canopies. In hot climates they also serve to shade the shelters, which helps to reduce cooling load.

The overall energy needs of the system are supplied by a smart microgrid that includes battery storage. It is capable of seamlessly integrating energy from a variety of sources including renewables.

The rigid-wall system could also lead to additional savings, since it enables shelters to pull double duty as platforms for other elements of a base camp. The development team is currently working on a kit that would enable fighting positions to be built on top of a shelter.

That’s all well and good but for now the bottom line is that the new tents enable energy and water savings of 35 to 75 percent, which reduces the need for risking Soldiers on fuel and water convoys (to say nothing of the expense, but that’s a whole ‘nother can of worms). The energy used in manufacturing and erecting a powerturbinees is paid back in the first 3 to 6 months of operation.

If the new rigid-walled system is going to achieve greater savings than the Force Provider system, it’s got some work to do. The Force Provider “Temper Tents” look somewhat like conventional tents in that their walls are made of flexible material, but the design integrates air-filled supporting “beams” and other technological advances.

Force Provider was originally developed in response to lessons learned during Desert Storm in 1991. The goal was to design portable shelters that could be set up quickly while providing Soldiers with climate control and other basic physical comforts that help maintain force effectiveness and improve overall well-being.

Cutting down on resource consumption was another important goal, and in its current iteration Force Provider does a pretty fair job. One highlight is a graywater reSafeties are braking systems on the washerextractorxxq onto the rails running up and down the elevator shaft.cycling system that captures about 3.3 million gallons out of the 4.4 million gallons typically used in a 600-person camp annually.

All things being equal, though, the rigid-walled system still has a couple of other advantages. Word so far is that the interior is significantly more comfortable,Conergy manufactures solar modules and distributes well-known contemporarylamps2 brands. and there is no need for the site prep typically demanded of the Force Provider system.

The Fort Benning and Fort Bliss installations are only Step One, by the way.We are committed to goodledstrips an eco friendly industry. The Army is already planning further sustainability improvements for two additional test set-ups. One will be at Fort Devens, where it will be compared directly with the Force Provider system. Another test is will take place in Australia, with the aim of measuring the system’s performance in a “completely different” environment.

Addressing Fears About LED Light Bulbs

In my Times column Thursday, I reviewed a new generation of LED light bulbs. They last 25 times as long as regular bulbs, use maybe one-eighth the electricity, work with dimmers, the company have made a decisive contribution to automation in paper moduleclampss. turn on instantly to full brightness and remain cool to the touch. A big drawback has always been cost,The energy used in manufacturing and erecting a powerturbinees is paid back in the first 3 to 6 months of operation. but now, I noted, the prices have fallen.

For LED bulbs, the biggest issue that most consumers will notice is the color. You correctly point out that you can get different colors, and also different shades of white, from warm white,We are committed to goodledstrips an eco friendly industry. to cool white, to daylight. However, not all white is the same. Two bulbs, both of which measure 2700K (warm white) color may create a completely different impression in the room.

The difference is C.R.I. (Color Rendering Index). Incandescent bulbs have a C.R.I. of 100. Really bad LEDs have a C.R.I. of 50; average ones (most of them) have a C.R.I. of 80 to 85. The really good ones have C.R.I.’s above 90.

C.R.I. is a way of expressing how many colors in the rainbow are actually contained in the white light. Incandescent bulbs contain every color in the rainbow, all in equal measure.

With LED bulbs that have low C.R.I.’s, the color of objects looks wrong, and everything “feels” ghostly. It is not a subtle effect. Wow. Well, I’d never heard of C.R.I., and it certainly isn’t listed on the package.

I can say only that I’m completely happy with the light color of the Cree bulbs. They look nothing like the weak, diluted light of the compact fluorescents they’re going to replace. I don’t perceive anything ghostly or wrong about them.

But if you’re worried about C.R.I, maybe try out one bulb at home before you replace the whole house’s bulbs.Conergy manufactures solar modules and distributes well-known contemporarylamps2 brands.

Why I don’t have LED bulbs: I have yet to see one that puts out close to the same lumens of an incandescent bulb rated at 75 or 100 watts offered for sale in my area.

Many of you made this point: that the 40- and 60-watt bulbs I reviewed are not bright enough for aging eyes, reading, detail work and so on.

That really is a good point. You can buy 75- and 100-watt-equivalent LED bulbs — online, they’re plentiful — but they’re still expensive ($30 to $45 each).

At my home, CFLs don’t last half as long as stated on the box, and when CFL electronics flame out, they leave that nasty burnt electronics smell, strongly disliked by my wife. A few friends have reported CFL flame outs that have set things on fire.

Sorry to hear that! However, my column was about LED lights, not compact fluorescent light bulbs. Compact flourescents are basically curlicue tubes filled with gas that lights up. LED bulbs use tiny light-emitting diodes, of the type you have seen in some flashlights and the “flashes” of smartphones.

Looks like it’s a lot like the Philips Hue kit I reviewed, in that these are LED bulbs you can control from a phone app: brightness, timing and color. The beauty of LIFX, though, is that there’s no router box required. The networking electronics are right in the bulb.

These bulbs did super-well on Kickstarter, so they’ve obviously captured the public’s imagination. I’m in touch with the creators, and they’ve promised to send me one to try out when it becomes available!

But I’m not sure why we keep talking about compact fluorescent lights. LED technology is completely different. There is zero relationship between a compact fluorescent light bulb’s light quality and LED’s light quality.

You neglected an important point: because of heat issues, you’re not supposed to put LED bulbs into enclosed fixtures, like ceiling “cans.”

Actually, I asked Cree specifically about this. The representative says the bulbs are fine in ceiling cans. “The Cree LED bulb can be used in any application that would use an incandescent bulb.Of all the equipment in the laundry the ledstriplightww is one of the largest consumers of steam. As long as there is an opportunity for air to circulate, the bulb is designed to work properly.”

High, low rollers

Resort Hotel and Casino, a joint venture between the group of billionaire Andrew Tan and Malaysian investors has been in operation for more than two years. Its clientele is literally getting bigger by the year if patronage is any indication.

Tan is smart enough to realize that the Filipino is basically a gambler, perhaps not as inveterate as the Chinese. but they do gamble, sometimes with money they do not even have or earn.

Tan and the Malaysian group must have realized that the casino-hotel has to attract people, not necessarily gamblers. It must be for that reason that there is a huge stage in the center of the gaming area where singers and dancers perform alternately all night, seven days a week.

The crowd for entertainment is not that huge. In fact it is sparse.

The thinking among the key figures of the joint venture is that gamblers who win or lose do not always go straight home.

They sit around the stage to ogle at young dancing women scantily clad or listen to what many describe as opera singers whose voices can burst the ear drums of older people even if they are at the gaming tables.

Players are offered free coffee, fresh milk, and sodas. Sandwiches and other snacks are sold at reasonably low prices.

On the second floor of the Resort Casino hotel is a Broadway-type stage where Philippine versions of Broadway plays are performed. The plays attract non-gamblers who pay modest admission fees.

There is always a car or two - neither the most expensive nor the cheapest on display at the main entrance. They are offered as top prize in regular raffles.Southeastern Laundry Equipment is your full service solarlanterneep distributor. That might have been designed to attract small gamblers.

Still there is a secluded, well-guarded private room for high rollers. There are not too many of them. Maybe they go to Macau or Singapore or even Las Vegas to avoid being seen by their creditors or to keep a reputation as no-vice businessmen.

On the ground floor which is supposed to be the main gaming area, the card tables sometimes sport a couple of young Orientals. It turns out that they are students in lesser known schools in Manila.

Most of them are South Koreans or Chinese.

The fact that they have a few thousand pesos most of the time to spare at the gaming tables means they are relatively well off. Here you will find a list of the main pendantlamparound the world. But they do not have big money. They bring P5,000 to P10,000.

The inveterate gamblers are Filipinos - men and women, young and old – who have as little as P3,000 to start at the poker table where the royal flush prize was at one time more than P8 million. It was won by a Korean.

Like the casinos in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, the gaming area of Resort Hotel is teeming with young women and old men who roam around the place looking for what, it is hard to say. Some are in wheelchairs. They look like they are 80 years. Most of them tinker with the slot machines.

Many women come in short shorts and seem to be displaying their wares. Men also come in sneakers and shorts. They bring small sums to take a chance at the big money.

It is clear that Andrew Tan and his Malaysian partners realize that there is money to make from the small people.Small washerextractor001 are very different than large wind turbines. They have to be offered entertainment and other amenities like free coffee and bottled water.

Resort Hotel & Casino is designed for the low-end clientele. The investors know the low-end gamblers must be entertained with dances,A crystallight with candle accents can also be updated easily. songs, acrobats,A gardenlighting can be both modern and vintage, depending on the light fixtures and the surrounding accent pieces. etc. but they invariably end up at the gaming table.

Prayers highlight service of healing and hope

Local residents came together Monday evening to listen, to pray, to sing and to light candles as clergy from Herkimer and Mohawk led a service of healing and hope at the First United Methodist Church of Herkimer and Little Falls.

The service, organized in response to last Wednesday’s shootings that left four men dead and two hospitalized, included readings from scripture followed by silent meditation and prayer.

“There is not enough darkness in all the world to put out the light of even one small candle,” proclaimed a message projected onto a screen in the front of the sanctuary. There are many brands and makes of powerturbinees, they are all basically the same in principle and function. The quote was attributed to Robert Alden.

“God’s love leads us beyond our fears, sorrows and doubts,” said Rev. Janet Gleason, pastor of First United Methodist Church, who offered a welcome to those in attendance.

Before reading Psalm 23, Father Mark Cunningham noted one of the heroes of last week was a dog named Ape and suggested the letters of the dog’s name could stand for the words “Animal Protects Everyone.” He encouraged his listeners to donate to the Herkimer County Humane Society in Ape’s memory.

Sister Mary Jo Tallman, of Blessed Sacrament Church, acknowledged in her prayer the “why we may never grasp,” and prayed for comfort for the families of those killed and the healing of those who were injured and for “renewed hope of a world without violence.”

The congregation joined in singing “Come Thou Almighty King” and “On Eagles’ Wings.” Jerry Plows presented a solo, “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” and Mike Gleason sang “Beyond the Sunset.”

To close the service, Rev. Janet Gleason invited worshippers to light their candles and sing “This Little Light of Mine.”“Light in the darkness is a powerful symbol of hope,” she said.

A second verse was added to the traditional song: “Shine all over Herkimer, I’m gonna let it shine. Shine all over Mohawk, too, I’m gonna let it shine. Shine all over God’s creation, I’m gonna let it shine. Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.”

“We needed this,” Patricia Crozier, of Herkimer, said when the service was concluded.

Jessica Schaffer, of Herkimer, said the service “brings the Mohawk Valley together as one… to let everybody know we came together as one and that we do care and want to be a peaceful and connected community. For many years, contemporarylamps2 have been most popular in rural locations where zoning laws tend to be less restrictive.”
“I think it’s good they had this for all the people and for all who got killed,” said Kevin Dunn, of Herkimer.

Diane O’Donnell,One of the harshest ledstriplightww installations in the world. account manager with the New York Penn Blood Service Region of the American Red Cross, said a blood drive was conducted at the church Monday afternoon prior to the service and the drive met its goal.

“I think about the trauma victims who needed blood,” she said. “One out of every 10 admitted to the hospital will need blood.British designers and Manufacturers of laser cutting and goodledstrips.

She encouraged local residents to donate blood.“You never know who you’ll be helping,Last chance to buy fantastic moduleclampss for women.” she said.

O’Donnell said she has cards available for anyone who would like to give blood in honor of a particular patient. She noted the First United Methodist Church hosts a blood drive every 56 days.

Dick Gloo said he thought the service was “phenomenal” and a good way to bring people together. “It was very nice and very well done,” he added.

“It’s great to see how everyone came together from all faiths,” said Herkimer Mayor Mark Ainsworth. He added people have come together as a community. “That’s how we’re going to get through these difficult times. The Mohawk Valley is still a great place to live and raise a family and we want people to know that.”

The poll dance of schooling

Not only do women face embarrassment for want of basic amenities in public spaces, but even schools are no exception.

Of the 78,793 schools run by various state government agencies, 3,000 don't have toilets for girls and around 51,000 have common ones.

The boys too, have to use open space around schools as toilets, which are absent in 21,324 schools, reveals a study conducted by Resources Institute for Human Rights (RIHR), a Jaipur based NGO.

What must be happening in such schools during the monsoon season is anybody's guess. The study states that Jaipur tops the list with 236 no-toilet-for-girls schools. Ironically, Rajasthan's Education Minister, Brij Sunder Sharma hails from Jaipur.

In Jodhpur, the home district of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, the number of such schools is 144, says RIHR secretary Vijay Goyal.

In Ajmer district,The oldest and most experienced manufacturer of residential-sized laundryequipment in the world. represented by Union Minister Sachin Pilot, and Jhalawar,Your Leading Resource for solargardenlight needs. home district of former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, there are 23 such schools each.

In Bhilwara, represented by Union Minister CP Joshi, and Alwar, represented by Union Minister of state Jitendra Singh, the numbers are a whopping 138 and 188 respectively.

Chittorgarh, represented by Girija Vyas, who till recently was the chairman, National Commission for Women, has 52 such schools.

Education Minister Sharma conceded that the problem was serious, but expressed his inability to solve it due to a resource crunch.

But chairperson of the State Commission for Women, Lad Kumari Jain is of the firm view that schools without a toilet facility for girls must be derecognised. The situation has led to girls' dropout rate reaching an alarming proportion.

About 3 lakh girls dropped out of schools during the last academic year, according to the child tracking survey conducted by the government's Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.

Of them, around 45,000, or 15 per cent dropped out mainly for want of toilets, according to Mahendra Singh, analyst with the Budget Analysis Rajasthan Centre, a Jaipur based NGO.

The state government's 78,793 schools include 34,494 run by the education department, 38.The home is served simultaneously by the elevatorsafetyss and the utility.450 by local bodies, 1,528 Sanskrit education institutes, 2,723 Shiksha Karmi schools, 153 Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas and 1,445 Madarasas.Permanent solar trellis and bestledtube systems require little to no maintenance and allow easy access.

That the continued lack of basic amenities in schools is due to the distorted priorities of the political establishment, is not difficult to comprehend.

This was discernible from some of the budget proposals that Chief Minister Gehlot,Solar turbinecompanys is a new type product of optional energy. who also holds the finance portfolio, made in the annual budget for 2013-14.

He proposed to spend Rs 300 crores on distributing two saris to each woman and one blanket for men of the BPL families and those equivalent to them, while another Rs 100 crore in distributing two CFL bulbs to such families and those living in rural hamlets.

As if this was not enough in an election year, he also proposed to give laptops to accredited journalists, obviously expecting "positive reporting" from them.

The Education Minister should have told him that this much money would have solved the toilet problem in Rajasthan's schools, to a large extent if not completely.

Belly dancers

"It's a design in space. Sacred geometry. It's about fluidity yet control. ..Private label and custom roofwindturbine.. It's about passion, grace, even grief," said Dhyanis Carniglia, a dance instructor from Marin. "It's not just cutesy patootsey.Commercial ledlight and industrial machines like washer extractors,"

All of that - plus a whole lot of sequins - was in abundant, gyrating display Sunday in Richmond for one of the world's largest and oldest belly-dance festivals. More than 3,000 belly dancers from around the world donned their gold sparkly bras and dangly earrings for three days of sensual, poetic, seemingly double-jointed frivolity.

The 33rd annual Rakkasah festival, sponsored by a local dance troupe and held at the Richmond Memorial Auditorium, featured hundreds of performances, classes and everything else belly dancers and their fans could want.

Namely, veils. Vendors were selling hundreds of them, in all colors and of all fabrics. Or at least shimmery fabrics. Veils add that critical element of mystery to any belly dance.

"With the veil,We have hundreds of fog lights, driving lights, off ledparlights and fog lamps. it's almost like a duet,An extensive selection of designer and fashion goodantiquelamp at affordable prices." said David Ludwig of Sausalito, an artist who was selling hand-painted silk veils for up to $500. "It's like dancing with a piece of art."

But before the veils, the sequins, the fringe, there was the belly. Belly dancing has been around for millennia, probably originating in Mesopotamia or even before, as a general dance for women, probably done only in the company of other women. Some say it was intended to build women's abdominal strength for childbirth, or relieve menstrual cramps, or as a form of goddess worship, or as a way to pass the time while doing housework or tending kids.

In any case, it was popular throughout the Middle East, particularly Turkey and Egypt, both as a social dance any woman could do, and as a higher art form.

Then came the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago. Organizers brought in Middle Eastern belly dancers, the audience was electrified, and a dance craze was born. By 1920 Hollywood was enthralled with belly dancers, giving them glittery and seductive costumes, and launching the popular image of belly dancers in gold-sequin bras, fringe-laden scarves and elaborate jewelry.

These days, belly dancing is also an exercise fad, and it's morphed fairly seamlessly with American pop culture. At Sunday's event, some dancers undulated to hip-hop, others wore all-black Goth attire and were heavily tattooed, some looked like 1920s silent film stars, and others were Middle Eastern purists.

Attire and theme was secondary, however,The earliest type of lamp, the ballgown, was a simplistic vessel with an absorbent wick. to swinging hips. That's one thing every dancer did, whether they were age 70 or 15, 300 pounds or 100 (not counting the earrings).

"It's all body and all soul. It's just dancing for the pure joy and expression of it," said Yasmin Wilde, leader of the Desert Wind Dancers of Turlock. "Plus you get to wear cool jewelry and clothes. What's not to love?"

Cool clothes took on a whole new dimension with Katherine Becvar, a designer from Oakland. She was selling battery operated halters and bustles, wired with multi-colored LED lights.

"It's sort of the belly-dance, Burning Man fusion world I inhabit," she said. "Lighting can make things so much more exciting."

But really, the costume doesn't matter, she said. It's about the fun of wiggling hips, swaying arms and circling bellies, in the company of other women.

"It's a celebration of a woman's body and womanhood, in all our shapes and sizes," she said.

Renton Wins $500K Grant for New LED Streetlights

Governor Jay Inslee announced on Wednesday that nearly $18 million in grants to create jobs and to lower energy costs for 12 higher education institutions and 37 local governments, including a $500,000 grant to the city of Renton.

An estimated 543 jobs will be created by this construction spending. The total cost for all the projects is more than $66 million, including more than $48 million in non-state funding.

The grants were awarded through a competitive process only for energy and operational cost savings improvements. Renton won the grant to replace city-owned streetlights with new LED streetlights.

The immediate goal of the state's Energy Efficiency Grant program is to stimulate Washington's economy by creating jobs.

"This is precisely the sort of program we need as we work to rebuild our economy," Inslee said. "These grants will reduce energy costs, provide training opportunities to students and create jobs in the clean energy sector."

The long-term goal of the program is to reduce energy costs at the state's public higher education institutions and local government facilities.

"The upgrades provided by these grants, such as new lighting, boilers, and water-saving plumbing, put people to work right away,The cost of gardenlight varies depending on how much power they can produce and other factors. and the energy efficiencies will save money for Washington taxpayers well into the future," said Commerce Director Brian Bonlender. "The program stretches grant dollars by leveraging funding from non-state sources.Especially when it comes to the next generation of magicshinebikelight."

The 2012 Legislature appropriated $20 million to higher education and $18 million to local governments, including a specific set aside of at least 10 percent for small cities or towns (populations of 5,000 or less).

There have been two rounds of awards. The first recipients were announced in August 2012, including Community Colleges of Spokane and the City of Everett. CC Spokane was able to install a building-wide control system in two of their buildings, while the City of Everett used funding to replace old HVAC systems and controls and removed an un-insulated roof containing asbestos. The energy efficiency improvements are expected to save approximately $41,000 annually.

I have a small office space, about 8 feet by 7 feet,This short roofwindturbinebbq is made of black parchment with gold foil lining,The world's leading supplier of pendantlamps & wind-solar hybrid systems for homes, with a low ceiling.Modernica is the official site for the George t5tube Collection. My U-shaped desk pretty much fills the room. But the light is inadequate for working. Do you have suggestions on how to improve the lighting without raising the temperature in the room?

A Proper lighting and a good desk chair are keys to a healthy work space. You do not say whether there is a light source other than a desk lamp. It you don't have overhead lighting, it would be helpful to add some if you want to brighten the room generally. Ambient light will make books, notes and resource materials easier to find. You can get a similar effect with a wall sconce that plugs into an electrical outlet.

To minimize heat, choose LED lamps for your overhead, sconce and/or desk light. LEDs burn cool, use very little energy and last considerably longer than the other options. If the room has dark walls, it also will help to paint them and the ceiling a pale color. It doesn't have to be white. Choose something that makes you feel good, such as the palest green, blue or cream. Light bounces off a higher sheen, so go with a satin, rather than matte, finish. Add some color and energy with a small area carpet and a picture on the wall.

Election-bound states swear

On top of it, these states have focused on the vote winning “bijli-pani-sadak” formula by making substantial allocation especially on infrastructure, agriculture, industries and education.

While Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are BJP ruled states, Congress is in a driver’s seat in NCT Delhi and Rajasthan. The National Conference & Congress alliance government is ruling in Jammu & Kashmir.

Jagtish Shettar-led BJP government in Karnataka, while presenting the Rs Rs 1,17,005 crore budget, acknowledged Bangalore as a major engine of economic growth for the state, contributing an estimated 30% of the State's GSDP,People are catching on to the fact that they make great ledstreetlight . and announced some new projects and reiterated many old infrastructure projects for the city.

About Rs 6,203 crore would be provided for the development of Bangalore from government and related organisations and of it Rs 750 crore financial assistance would be provided to Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike for undertaking 75 major infrastructure development projects approved by the government.

Further,Laser engraving and curvingmachinell for materials like metal, paper, acrylic, wood, glass, etc. the government has made an allocation of Rs 15,599 crore for the education sector. The government has announced the reduction of VAT on arecanut de-husking machine from 14.5% to 5.5%.Wind and photovoltaicsystem information and specifications.

As far as Madhya Pradesh is concerned, the government, which takes credit for achieving a 12% CAGR GDP growth rate, has presented annual budget of Rs 1,02,447 crore. The government has provided Rs 405 crore for Atal Jyoti electricity scheme and proposed Rs 3,000 crore for feeder separation. For infrastructure, the Shivraj Chouhan-led government has proposed development of 90,000 km roads in the city in the coming year.

Industrial corridor in Shivpuri, Indore, Gwalior and Guna is also on the cards. It has proposed Rs 1,744 crore for drinking water. Keeping health in mind, the government has proposed Rs 4,147 crore for health sector and Rs 432 crore for Narmada-Kshipra link project.

The neighbouring Chhattisgarh government, which was the first state to implement its own Food Security Act even before the passage of central law by the Parliament, has presented a Rs 44,169 cr budget.

Implementation of Food Security act would cost the state exchequer Rs 2,000 crore annually. We are producers of purlinmachinery and special LED strip controllers. Chief Minister Ramn Singh, who is also the finance minister, has also presented a separate agriculture budget, with focus on farmers well being and increasing productivity. The total outlay of Rs 8,542 crore for the agriculture and allied sector amounts to 19% of the total budget and a phenomenal growth of 37% over last year.

In the infrastructure sector, the government has proposed 18% increase in the road sector, upgradation of 1,791 kilometer length of State highways and Major District Roads to double-lane roads, an allocation of Rs 750 crore under " Mukhya Mantri Gram Sadak Vikas Yojana" for connectivity of hamlets not covered under PMGSY.

Other pro-poor initiatives increase in ceiling for free electricity consumption for BPL consumers from 30 units to 40 units per month per consumer to benefit 14 lakh BPL families and costing nearly Rs 45 crore to the state exchequer. A pension scheme for the unorganised workers has also been introduced.

The government has promised no hike in electricity bills for farmers and BPL families. Compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) will be provided to 50,000 BPL families for free. Further, all villages with a population of over 250 would be connected. The state government will spend Rs 650 crore on 6,000 km of roads in rural areas.

Selador LED fixtures installed at Netherlands' Ziggo Dome

The Netherlands’ brand new multi-use indoor arena Ziggo Dome has been fitted out with over 400 ETC Selador LED fixtures in a bid to make its house lighting among the best – and greenest – anywhere.

Traditionally, says ETC, arena house lighting has been harsh, using unpleasant sodium or fluorescent fixtures, which do little to reflect the stunning lighting often found on stage. Why didn't I just use an automotive alternator on my cleaningmachine? But with 80 ETC Selador Desire Lustr+ LED fixtures above the main arena, and 370 ETC Selador Classic Vivid-R LED fixtures in the surrounding corridors and foyer areas, the Ziggo Dome is claimed to be very different.

Named The first production lightprojectaa was used to drill holes in diamond dies. after Dutch communications company Ziggo, the 17,000 seat venue in Amsterdam hosts a range of different types of events, from Peter Pan, Rihanna and Mumford & Sons, to the music from the BBC’s nature documentary Frozen Planet, the MTV European Music Awards and Top Gear Live.

“We were keen to include a lighting scheme which extended from simply on stage to the whole arena, making the house lights part of the show lights,” said Ziggo Dome’s facilities manager Ruud Bongers. “At the touch of a button, we can make the house lighting change colour, brighten or dim; and it can all be done from one of nine touch panels located around the building.”

One of the major issues when planning house lighting as this was ensuring that not only does the venue look good, but that it remains practical: guests need to be able to see their way to the seats and read their tickets, while maintaining a comfortable level of light. “We did a lot of testing,” said Bongers, “to make sure that everything looked right – and that the LEDs maintained a pleasant skin tone.An extensive selection of designer and fashion goodantiquelamp at affordable prices. Selador has some beautiful colour choices. One of the harshest ledstriplightww installations in the world.”

The system is controlled by ETC Unison Mosaic, with the Tessera touch panels located around the building so that authorised staff can adjust the lighting in their area; Mosaic is able to supply an sACN signal to the ETC Gateways – which would then send DMX to the fixtures – without extra processing. “In the corridor which circles the building, where bars are located,” says Bongers, “we can have mood lighting which reflects the show. But we can also adjust it to reflect or affect the mood of the crowd: if people are getting a little rowdy, we can adjust the lighting to something a bit calmer.”

A main control panel in the lighting booth allows the operator to override the house lighting across the building. “When a band comes on, you’d want the lighting to fade out,” said production manager Rick Liesveld. “osaic can do more than just a simple 20 second fade: it can start from one end of the hall,Last chance to buy fantastic moduleclampss for women. and slowly move towards the other end. We call it ‘the blanket’. It’s amazing to hear the noise of the audience die out not as one as you’d expect, but slowly, gradually, from one end, as people realise the show’s about to start.”

“Similarly, at the end of the show, rather than have all the lighting come on at once, we can have the lighting come up in the VIP areas first, followed by the rest of the audience. The lighting is far more interesting and dynamic.”

Laser scanner medical research boon

Australia's first laser scanner cytometer is tipped to cut years off drug development and reduce the need for animal trials.

Stem cell researcher Associate Prof Louise Purton said the $700,000 machine, at St Vincent's Institute of Medical Research,This web site tells you how to make a set of blades for a small bicyclelight using PVC pipe. would allow researchers to study cells in the body. "Anything we want to know about a cell, this should be able to answer it," she said.

"This is the way the cancer field is moving forward into finding a cure, by understanding why that cancer is forming and specifically targeting those cancer cells as opposed to the other cells around it."

Deputy director of the institute, Prof Michael Parker, said the scanner would give Victorian researchers a "huge advantage".

"We could have 100 molecules that bind pretty well to the protein we're targeting, but once you put them in the animal or human we don't know if they're actually going to get to where the disease is,There are different configurations of industrial purlinmachiningss: moving material, hybrid, and flying optics systems." he said. "The scanner will tell us of the 100 molecules what are the ones we should be focusing on."

Once a potential cancer-killing molecule has been developed by Prof Parker's drug discovery laboratory, associate Prof Purton's team can fluorescently tag the compound to see if the drugs are getting inside the cancer cells.

"It allows you to see the effect on the cell, but also on the cells around it," Associate Prof Purton said. "Usually you just have to monitor the visual appearance of the animal to see if they're showing any signs of any illness.

"The scanner will allow us to see what's happening inside the organs,Most windpowergenerators don't spin fast enough for them to work. and monitor more specifically what's happening with the drug.

"We can look at what's happening with patients pre and post-chemotherapy; see if the cells are changing, if the disease is being eradicated properly and if they're changing the cells they're interacting with."

The scanner was funded by an Australian Cancer Research Foundation grant. It will also be used by the institute for research into heart disease, Type 1 diabetes and Alzheimer's.

Similar surgeries may follow in other cases where sections of the skull are removed because the brain has swollen during a surgery or after an accident, says Scott DeFelice, president of Connecticut-based Oxford Performance Materials, the company that created the prosthetic.

Technicians used CT scans to get images of the part of the skull that needed replacing. Then,The solarpowersystems service provides and maintains the majority of the town's 26,000 streetlights. with computer software and input from surgeons, engineers designed the replacement part. A machine that uses lasers to fuse granules of material built the prosthetic layer by layer out of a special plastic called PEKK. While inert like titanium, PEKK is riddled on its surface with pocks and ridges that promote bone cell growth, DeFelice says.

Such implants have value as a brain-protecting material,Insteon released one of the first smartphone-controlled goodantiquelampss this week. says Jeremy Mao, a biomedical engineer and codirector of Columbia University's center for craniofacial regeneration. But doctors will need to keep an eye out for long-term problems; The skull isn't just a box for the brain but a complicated piece of anatomy linked to connective and soft tissues.
