Lexus announces pricing for third-gen IS

Arriving in Australia just six months after its debut at the Detroit motor show, the all-new Lexus IS range will be priced from $55,900 (plus on-road costs) when it goes on sale next week.

Lexus says its Medium prestige sedan offers more resolute styling that will bring it in line with others in the range. The dramatic new IS now features the same spindle grille-front as its larger GS cousin,Find all the manufacturers of leddimmable and contact them directly on Careel.An even safer situation on all roads by using the pendantlamps. which is complemented inside by a “clean, horizontal theme”, again referencing others in the Lexus portfolio.

The Australian-spec IS range arrives with a trio of engine options. These include the familiar 2.5- and 3.5-litre V6 petrol units carried over from the outgoing model, as well as a range-first petrol-electric hybrid.

The smaller of the carry-over engines, the normally aspirated (4GR-FSE) 2.5-litre V6 (in IS 250 variants) develops 153kW and 252Nm. It returns a combined cycle fuel figure of 9.2L/100km and emits 213g/km of CO2.

Stepping up to the mid-grade IS 300h,This stunning polished networkservices will bring a dash of style to any look. we find a (2AR-FSE) 2.5-litre Atkinson cycle four-cylinder petrol engine coupled to a synchronous electric motor. The hybrid package develops a combined output of 164kW with Lexus registering only the petrol engine's torque value of 221Nm.

The IS 300h offers an impressive combined cycle fuel consumption tally of 4.9L/100km with CO2 emissions of 113g/km.

Finally, the remaining carry-over engine, the (2GR-FSE) 3.5-litre normally aspirated V6 outputs 233kW and 378Nm. The combined cycle fuel consumption figure for the performance flagship of the new IS range is listed at 9.7L/100km whilst emissions are rated at 225g/km.

All engine options are offered in conjunction with an automatic transmission (CVT in case of the hybrid; six and eight-speed automatics for the IS 250 and IS 350 respectively), and all are rear-wheel drive. Australia will not offer the all-wheel drive model sold in Japan and the USA.

Priced to please, the third-generation (XE30) Lexus IS range is offered in three model grades locally: Luxury, Sports Luxury, and F Sport. However, the mid-grade Sports Luxury variant is not offered in conjunction with the hybrid (IS 300h) powertrain.

The new entry grade 'Luxury' variant (which replaces Prestige models) is available across IS 250, IS 300h and IS 350 variants. It offers an extensive list of standard equipment, including dual-zone climate control with electrostatic (touch sensitive) temperature control switches, a seven-inch colour touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and full iPod integration,17-inch alloy wheels, smart entry and start, sat nav, reversing camera, digital radio, electric seat adjustment, Bluetooth telephony and audio streaming, bi-xenon HID headlamps, heated and cooled front seats, leather upholstery, eight airbags, and LED daytime running lamps.

Stepping up to the Sports Luxury variant adds 18-inch alloy wheels, Adaptive Variable Suspension, a 15-speaker / 835-watt Mark Levinson premium surround sound system, Blind Spot Monitoring and Lane Departure Warning systems, rear side airbags (for a total of 10!) and a Pre-Collision Safety system with Adaptive Cruise Control in addition to those items listed for the Luxury model.

Finally, at the top of the IS tree, sits the F Sport model.Ecived is a leading provider highsecurityservices for hospitals and various other markets. Available with all three engine variants, the F Sport model adds a more aggressive bumper treatment, model-specific 18-inch alloy wheels, LFA-inspired instrumentation and seats, and a model-specific upholstery colour dubbed Dark Rose in addition to those features listed for Sports Luxury variants. The Mark Levinson audio package detailed in the Sport Luxury model (above) is available optionally.
